As our economy changes, so has the needs of our workforce. According to the Ohio Department of Education, too many of our students find themselves unprepared for entry into a career—5.5 million people between the ages of 16 and 24 are neither in college nor working in the U.S. At the same time, more than half of American companies have jobs they cannot fill, with employers reporting that applicants lack workplace and technical competencies.
Many students are unaware of the different career-focused opportunities available to them. To address these knowledge gaps, Ohio has launched SuccessBound- an educational approach and communication strategy that bring together Ohio’s strong business and education partnerships to engage and inspire students about career opportunities.
