The Southwest Tech Prep Regional Center is one of six Ohio centers established to support and expand meaningful pathways from middle and high school career technical programs to postsecondary and employment opportunity.

The center encompasses the geographic region previously served by three Tech Prep Consortia:  Greater Cincinnati, Miami Valley and Ohio South.  Greater Cincinnati and Miami Valley had been funded as two of the state’s largest consortia while Ohio South had been one of eight small consortia.

The region’s 16 secondary partner districts include three of Ohio’s largest Career Technical Planning Districts (CTPDs); four urban districts- two of which are included in the Big 8 urban districts; six rural CTPDs’ and one Compact.

Diversity is reflected in the composition of postsecondary partnerships.  Thirteen southwest Ohio counties have campuses in the southwest region.  Nine college partners represent six universities and three community colleges.  Multiple campuses and varied programs afford a great range of choice for southwest Ohio students.
