CCAP Workshop: Work-Based Learning_Educators
3 Kovach Dr
Cincinnati, OH 45215
ACI’s Construction Career Center presents a series of workshops devoted to assisting employers and educators with creating deep workforce pipelines.
The Construction Career Center’s Workshops are part of ACI’s “cradle to career” approach to workforce solutions. This workshop is all about how to develop work-based learning programs such as externships and co-ops for students ages 16-18.
The Construction Career Advocacy Programs (CCAP) is ACI’s K-12 Outreach initiative for grades 5 through 12. CCAP is a comprehensive approach to school-based and skilled-trade outreach. It is a three-pronged strategy that takes into account the three critical pieces of the workforce equation: Students, Educators, and Employers.
During this workshop, employers will get to network and learn alongside educators from across the region seeking to connect their students to work-based learning opportunities.
Educators will benefit from this workshop as well by hearing about the challenges construction industry employers face in developing and offering employment opportunities for youth.
The workshop will be broken down into four sections and feature Q+A with subject matter experts.
8:00 am: Welcome. (Includes Coffee, Pastries, Juice, etc.)
8:15 am: Safety + Human Resources, featuring OSHA Professional and Labor Attorney (TBA)
9:00 – 9:45 am: The Department of Education (Ohio + Kentucky)
10:00 – 11:00 am: Testimonials from Established Youth-Based Employment Programs
11:00 am – 12:00pm: Final Q+A and Networking
